The Impact of Advertisement World on Business World.

It is very essential for a businessman whether he is indulging in manufacturing, trading on large or small scale, to ensure a handsome sale/consumption of goods manufactured / sold/ traded. For which the consumers/ purchasers should be there to make use the goods/ products from them; in other words enough demand amongst  them, be there. For this, efforts are made to make  maximum people know about the goods/ products.

Need for Advertisement

For this propaganda / publicity of the goods/ products is a must. This very propaganda is termed as “Advertisement”. The advertisement of or about anything reaches the consumers who are in demand of it. The importance of advertisement under present scenario is not reaching the consumers on a wide spread large scale to let it  be known about the availability per the demand only, to the consumers  but also to :

  1. Increase the number of consumers by making unknown or unaware persons know about the importance/ utility, its availability of what is being advertised.
  2. If  more number of Manufactures/Suppliers are of the same type of item/s are there in the market, the superiority of what is being advertised over the others in the context of price/ cost, quality, availability, after sale services (as the case may be), guaranty/warranty etc., are ensured by the advertiser through the ads.

The advertisement is made through the instruments / media, which are able to publicize on a large and widespread manner. The pamphlets, brochures, etc., distributed manually, through  some other agency, publication in newspapers, using the services of Radio and T.V. Channels are some very effective sources of making publicity / advertisement.

The most popular tools for making advts., are News Papers, Radio and T.V. Channels for being able to make a very wide spread publicity amongst common people for being in easy approach and accessibility of common public.

Not only a drastic change in the attitude of the media is being noticed, but, it is coupled with the acceptance of the common public which has brought a revolutionary change in the society`s thoughts and attitude towards accepting the values and need of advertisement.

But, it is well said and accepted too, that the excess of everything is bad. The same is being noticed very much by all in the context of relationship of media and advertisers.

The media tools like radio, T.V. Channels and Newspapers etc. have bowed before the mighty power of advertisers who have overcome the media in such a way that the very survival of any one or the other media means is now dependent on advertisement.

This can be very well judged by the publication of ads on the whole or partially on the face of (the first page) a newspaper giving more importance to advertisement over a news item irrespective of its importance i.e. the ad gets top priority over any news. A song or news is interrupted during its broadcasting if its time for an advertisment falls in between without any further consideration, on radio. It has well been noticed that a song is interrupted by an ad in such a way the song gets finished and a new song begins and half done for the sake of ad to be broadcast and the poor listener has to bear with it. The same is observed in shows of T.V. Channels telecasting sports activities, live or otherwise or an episode of any serial being telecast.

Future

It is feared that very soon a day may come and observed that the live broadcast/ telecast of some national festival or proceedings of any meeting of national importance or final procession of some big leader would get an interruption for the sake of an advertisement. For example, proceedings of the funeral of a leader are being broadcast/ telecast and simultaneously the ad interrupts saying the 30% of the proceedings are sponsored by ABC Co or 40 % of last ritual expenses are sponsored by XYZ Co. Does any feel the amount of impact it is going to harm the importance and paucity of such proceedings. Well, everything has to be given optimum bindings too. Intentions are not at all to belittle the  importance  utility  and relationship of media, advertisers and consumer common people, but, to propagate the need of putting streamlined  working and maintaining healthy relations amongst all affected.
